Pittsburgh Symphony Community Partners Program yields profits for PCSI

It was a very successful year in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Community Partners Program.
Pittsburgh Community Services, Inc. sold a total of 27 tickets for a total agency amount of  $935.00.  This is PCSI's first year participating in the program, and is grateful to all who called in to purchased tickets under PCSI's special participation code.

The Pittsburgh Symphony, a world class orchestra, provided an abundance of entertainment at the concert, held June 24, 2010 at Heinz Hall.  Resident conductor Lawrence Loh included musical selections from "Carmen" with a surprise special guest conductor, Mr. Lynn Swann, Community Partners Honorary Chair.  Featured violinist Gareth Johnson, Sphinx Award Winner, performed Camille Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso in A minor for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 28.  Gloria Gaynor took the stage following intermission and had the audience on its feet with her final selection, "I Will Survive." Giant Eagle was the lead sponsor for the event.

A total of $69,816 (representing 1,567 designated tickets) was raised by designated ticket sales in the 2010 program. This means that in seven years of the Community Partners Program, a total of $539,000 (over ½ million dollars) has been raised by and for the PSO's Partners. Congratulations!
